I'm at Southport, Merseyside, and have just built a Moxon Square for 6m. I can hear GB3BUX at around S6-7 from here (IO83MP), from around 90km away. Antenna at only about 10 ft high. (Although the beacon drops into the noise around 20:00)

I believe it's reported to be running in the order of one watt to a (vertical?)

i hear GB3BUX here in Morecambe, sometimes its unreadable, sometimes not, fascinating. i have used IC 706s FT 690's FT 817's all on a half-wave dipole mounted on the back of the house, i'm in a 3dr floor flat on the promenade,
2 floors above me, but i hope to put sone sort of gain 6m end fed vertical up higher soon. pretty new to 6m but myself and several locals use it for FM chat.

Chris G3UFS. Hi, re the Buxton Beacon, GB3BUX. I live in Lancing, West Sussex, right down on the coast and I can hear the beacon all the time, QRN permitting. sigs. very low but readable.

is a video I took from Coombe Hill in Berkshire last summer 130+miles from the beacon.

The antenna was a "home brew" 2 ele delta loop.

Hi All

The current keeper of GB3BUX (which is currently off air) rang me back this evening

He hopes to get on its remote site next week to investigate/fix. The
expectations are currently power supply related as both its 50 and 70MHz outputs
are off line (assuming nothing more nasty has happened)

- more in due course

Apart from a patient wait & see - no need to worry at present
