I'm considering using one of these for 6m. Has anyone had any experience with this type of antenna?
The main reason for choosing this antenna is lack of space and facilities to errect a beam type antenna.
Of course all suggestion would be appreciated but apart from the G5RV (half size) that i've so far got away with i'm a bit stuck for idea's.

Kind Regards

Hi Paul, if your stuck for space I'd personally recommend an HB9CV, i've used one for years with great success for working Es etc. It's wide beam width means that you may not need a rotator as much as you would would with other narrower B/W designs. Also has a good F/B ratio too. Other wise check out these designs from back issues of Six News:

Hiya Dai,

Sure i'll keep you folks posted on what i end up doing, atm it looks like the HB9CV, just waiting on our local shop to get back to me with a price to build one
I'm a bit disappointed that nobody has given the Clansman a go as it looks a good alternative for folk's like myself who a stuck for space.

Hi Paul,
Heres a pic of my trusty 'ole HB9CV on it's temporary mounting (bamboo pole affixed to the BBQ). I've worked all around Europe on this antenna usually fixed beaming towards the South East from IO91wt althought I do move it a bit when Scandanavia is comming in. I've also worked the USA on this Multi Hop Es, so if you have limited space, I'd recommend it:

Hi Paul,
I know that Ian, G6TGO uses a Clansman and he sometimes posts to this website. You could try sending him a private message via this site maybe?
