I have just came back from a short break in EA5 where I took along my FT857, FT817, a wire Delta Loop and a 6mtr fibre glass fishing pole!

There were a few surprises whilst there. The first was working 9 North American stations on 6 with 100 watts and the wire loop. but I think best of all was working so many G's and having so many people telling me they are either using or know someone using one of my antenna designs!

It really does make the time worthwhile when you know the hours you spend are not just for your own benefit of for information posted on a website. To top it off, I also found out my site is now one of only 5 antenna sites listed on the ARRL websites Yagi antennas page!

Thanks again,

Justin G0KSC

I took delivery of a 4-el LFA for 6m last week but, typically, the band has been almost dead since! My first Q was with an IT9 who gave me S9+10 and this morning I worked CT3FQ under very difficult QSB conditions. I just hope there will be some more activity in the band in the coming weeks..

Hi Brendan,

Good to hear all is going good with your LFA. I used an 8 element during field day and works 2 9Y's. just a single callsing at pile up time got us a result both times, first time.

Hi all. Any other member using any of Justin's (G0KSC) antennas?
Who's built one of his LFA arrays yet & what's the results? It would be interesting to know how it's performing over your conventional antenna.

Hi Justin. Good on working the 9Ys. I tried for ages to work 9Y4D without success. Maybe next time! I did work NP4A for my first contact across the pond - my furthest DX yet!

Hi Brendon,

the answer is stacking. I have been experimenting with small antenna stacks and the spacing does not have to be too great and yet near perfect additional gain can be achieved with 2 Yagis (additional 3dB).

With 2 of what you have with only a 2.7mtr boom, stacked at around 4 mtrs apat (one above the other, if I have you bottom antennas height, I can calculate exactly) you will acheive almost 12dBi while retaining the impressive 23dB F/B. that is almost 10dBd from a turning circle of not much more than 2 metres!
