If you drop an email to Mike G3SED at Nevada I am sure he will be able to assist you. Mike is also a keen 6m dxer ![]()

I am very sure that the Wimo antenna would only last a few months due to extreme iceing and extreme gusting wind. Nevada kindly made a rugged vertical whip antenna for JX7SIX a few years ago but unfortunately it broke in half later on. ![]() The longest antenna on the picture is the one that broke in half... The problem is when the antennas are covered in 20-30cm of ice and you have extreme gusts of wind. I remember JX3EX and I went up to the QTH of JX7SIX. When JX3EX opened the door, the door went wide open in milliseconds and TJ flew trough the air ![]() The wind is accumulated from the bottom of the volcano and abt 200M up where all the the force is unleached on the top. Even the Procom antennas do break, but only the long ones... I made a dipole of 4mm stainless guy wires, but then the balun was destroyed by melting and freezing ice... Not so easy get repairs done when you depend on non-hams doing the job for free. Wish you good luck Charly, I have a recording on my website with OE3KLU calling JX7DFA on six... ![]()

I have been building some very sturdy versions too. I am happy to provide a Yagi antenna for these locations free of charge if you can cover shipping costs. Just let me know the sizes you want and I will make something to stand the elements. J G0KSC ![]()
